Whole Body Scans Save Lives

We had a patient come in because her family doctor was concerned the aorta in her abdomen may rupture – the aorta is the largest artery in the body. The patient opted to do a Whole Body Scan instead. We found an enlarged aorta in her abdomen measuring 3.5 cm. If it is more than 5 cm, it will rupture and will be deadly. So our doctor met with her and told her that the abdominal aorta will not kill her, but the one that we found in her brain will – which was 5cm! Now she must get brain surgery before it ruptures. We save lives.
